The owners were sad to leave the garden they loved behind, but happy to move to the beautiful leafy green suburb of Wimbledon. However, the compromise was a smaller garden with a north facing outlook.

The owners requested a more rural feel in keeping with the different location. There was also a service pipe at the end of the garden which could not be built on. The solution was to put a decked area at the back of the garden. This would provide the owners with an area for seating in the sunniest aspect whilst allowing for access to the service pipe.

The planting in their previous garden had captured their imagination and they requested more of the same. However for a more traditional feel, scented climbing roses were planted over the pergola and on the garden walls.

A small crab apple provides the focal point to the large planting bed.

The smaller planting beds were filled with colourful perennials. Tulip bulbs were added in the autumn to provide riotous colour in the spring. The garden was planted in June 2009 and will the pictures will be updated in 2010.
